Combatant was entirely developed, shot and postproduced within four weeks in summer 2001 as a student work for a film course at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Locations nearby the home of the filmmakers in the Black Forrest, Southern Germany, have been used to shoot Combatant on a few days with just the three filmmakers, the actress, two grips and a weapon mock built from cable tubes... The new version of Combatant was released in summer 2002 when casual work on improvements on Visual Effects, computergraphics and sounddesign had been completed.
